Our Story

The early years

In the early years of GAP Professional Products®, Bill’s dream was to provide food and a home for his wife and young family. Starting with an auto parts wholesaler from Montreal, Bill was able to buy $5,000 worth of parts and set out looking for customers in an old milk delivery truck. Before long, there were several easily identifiable “GAP Vans” servicing over 500 customers in Atlantic Canada. With determination and a vision, Bill created a brand and products that today can be found from coast to coast.

Throughout the 1990’s, Bill steadily grew GAP – from his home garage to a small warehouse nearby, to a large warehouse in Keswick, NB. With GAP Auto becoming one of Canada’s largest growing manufacturer and building its own manufacturing plant, it didn’t take long for GAP to expand its footprint.

The next generation

Never did Bill imagine he would have 3 sons that would take his business into the next generation. In 2009, Bill’s 3 sons took over the company’s operations and started their own journey in making GAP a leading manufacturer of automotive chemicals in Canada. By 2013, Bruce, Craig and Mark had expanded GAP to Ontario and moved the operation to a new facility in Keswick Ridge, NB.

In 2023, Craig, Mark and Bruce expanded the business again by working with experienced scientist to create GAP’s own line of automotive preventative maintenance products.

Today, GAP Professional Products® can be found in every province in Canada through its professional distribution network and GAP’s direct distribution.

Our Founders Set the Standard

The core values we live by today are the same ones Bill and Shirley set back over 44 years ago. They are rooted deep into GAP Professional Products®, and you can see that with the passion and professionalism of their sons (Craig, Mark, and Bruce) and the entire GAP team.
